A Japanese family company started over 100 years ago, Tombow believes in the creativity of people and their love of creating things by hand.
Starting as a pencil manufacturing company in 1913 by Harunosuke Ogawa, Tombow was known for dealing with high-quality writing instruments. As schooling became compulsory in Japan demand for pencils and pens grew. English became a compulsory language for children to learn and students quickly found that traditional brush and ink didn't work for Latin characters, Tombow products rapidly grew in popularity and became a staple in every student's collection. To this day almost every single school child has grown up with Tombow products.
Tombow's range of quality writing tools has continued to expand from simple pens and pencils to drawing equipment, technical pens and their highly popular brush pens and liners. Now Tombow has developed traditional techniques and products to create new products that put an emphasis on creative hand lettering and drawing with their globally popular brush pens.
