In 1933, American colour chemist Henry Levison starts Permanent Pigments Company, a family-owned business making artists' oil paints. Permanent pigments Company creates the first water-based acrylic gesso in 1955. Known for its liquid texture the products is named "Liquitex". A year later, Liquitex releases the first commercially available water-based acrylic paint for artists. Now a global brand, Liquitex has continued to develop new products and support artists. With innovative products such as their acrylic mediums, acrylic gouache and water-based spray paints Liquitex has become a favourite for artists' materials all over the globe.
