Started in 1930 by C. Moving into a new location in Heidelberg, Lamy began to develop new products including the Lamy Exact which was Germany's first ballpoint pen. With the quality of the Exact Lamy begins to get a reputation not only in Germany but all around the world. In 1980 Lamy revealed the Lamy Safari which would go on to be the best-selling fountain pen in the world, the safari remains as a staple of the Lamy collection.
