Golden Acrylic Paint

Golden Acrylic Paint

In 1930 Sam Golden joined his uncles business Bocour Artist Colors, producing hand-ground oil colours for artists. In the middle of Manhattan, Sam Golden made paints for the likes of Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. While with his uncle, Sam began to develop the first artist acrylic paint, constantly developing and refining Sam developed a more popular water-based version. 30 years on Sam Golden had retired from the business and moved to New Berlin, New York. Planning on living a quiet life for his retirement, he kept finding himself popping to the shed to mix up new paints for friends he'd made at Bocour Artist Colours. At the age of 67, Sam came out of retirement to begin Golden Artist Colors. As the support from artists began to grow so did the company. Now Golden continues to create high quality paints with artists and their work at the front of everything they do. The product range has grown from Sam's original heavy body acrylic to know including high flow colours, interference acrylics, gels, pastes, mediums and more.
